SPONSOR A LITTLE SISTERS FUND MENTOR

From 2019, we have a new and unique opportunity to help. We have been invited to partner with Little Sisters Fund (LSF). This organisation supports about 2,100 girls – ‘little sisters’ – who have been rescued from exploitation, come from poor families, or are otherwise disadvantaged. To guide and support these girls in 21 Districts of Nepal, LSF employs 25 ‘Coordinating Mentors’. Each of these Mentors - previously ‘little sisters’ themselves – works with 30 or more girls, serving as tutors, role models and counsellors. Having travelled the same path out of poverty, these Mentors are best able to recognize when a younger girl is at risk, and know how to help. The In Time Trust offered to sponsor some of these women, and now supports 7 of them. Each Sponsor will receive at least two reports per year from the Mentor they are supporting, describing her successes and challenges in working with their 30 or more ‘little sisters’. The Sponsor would be welcome to correspond with the Mentor if they would like. For each of these women, an ITT sponsor (or group of sponsors) contributes NZ$75 per month.

This is the first time that a New Zealand organisation has been invited to partner with the Little Sisters Fund. We think it’s a great model, allowing one Sponsor to help a much larger number of young girls. We invite you to help. By sponsoring one of these women, you will be helping to support, educate and inspire 30 or more of these vulnerable girls. And in time, some of the girls will become Mentors themselves, helping other ‘little sisters’. If you would like to sponsor a Coordinating Mentor, or get more details, please email us on intimetrust@gmail.com . Because some of the girls being helped by these Mentors will later become Mentors themselves, your help is a gift that will keep on giving!
